Chinchontepec Castle- Beautiful castle located on top of a hill that once belonged to Pipil Indians. The name Chinchontepec means “place where three roads meet”. It is beautiful place for hiking, horseback riding or just walking around enjoying tranquil atmosphere. There are also many traditional restaurants nearby serving tasty local food if you get hungry during your hike!
El Trifinio National Park (Parque Nacional Los Volcanes) – This park features amazing volcanoes such as Izalco, Santa Ana and Tacana. Beautiful landscapes with craters to explore!
Rio Lempa – Beautiful River cutting through the middle of El Salvador providing both electricity for half country as well as transporting goods from east coast to west coast.
Izalco Volcano- Beautiful volcano making an amazing view when it erupts at night! You can even see lava flowing during eruptions which is not something you get opportunity to see everyday. It’s one of Central America’s most active volcanoes located only 42 km away from San Salvador, capital city of El Salvador. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby or planning trip to this beautiful country!

Laguna de Sonso Nature Reserve- Beautiful place for camping, hiking and bird watching! One can spot toucans here easily as well as other beautiful birds. There are also crocodiles living in the area so be careful not to fall into water if you decide to go on a hike!
Lake Yohoa – Beautiful Crater Lake located very close to Pacific Coast with amazing views from nearby hills during sunrise or sunset time . It is perfect location for photographers looking for some great shots!
Tacana Volcano – Beautiful volcano west from San Miguel city that erupted recently allowing people inside its lava tunnels made after eruption. It’s a great place to hike during the day and see lava tunnels from inside!
Cerro Verde National Park – Beautiful park located near Pacific Coast with amazing views and nice hiking trails, especially if you like bird watching. There are many species of birds living in this area such as toucans, parrots or hummingbirds that can be seen easily while walking around enjoying nature at its finest.
El Boqueron Natural Reserve – Beautiful forested area west from San Salvador city where one can go on long hikes through thick trees covered by green moss due to high humidity levels which is refreshing after hot days in El Salvador!
